Environmental noise filtering may be optimal but remains difficult
Unlike glasses, for example, the optimum specifications for a hearing aid cannot be fully determined and objectified in advance. I have been using them for about 25 years now and want to be able to set high standards for them, partly because of my profession (journalist).
To start with the worst experience: the attenuation of ambient noise has never been good, even with my previous expensive devices. On the contrary. Even optimally adjusted, they are sometimes amplified more than the desired source. At a crowded party and with poorer acoustics, I sometimes can only carry on a conversation by turning off my devices, not to mention the energy it takes from me.
I like listening to music better, and feedback the devices do virtually nothing. I chose devices with battery, because I want as few dependencies as possible, and with a battery to charge daily, you are handicapped without AC power.
OogvoorOren was chosen because I read fairly good reviews about them. There was a cheaper supplier but with less positive reviews and a lower service level. After some communication problems, the service is now ok.

Oticon Real 1 miniRITE T
Fine
After trying out several hearing aids, I chose oticon intent 1 minirite because of its most natural sound reproduction. The device is easy to control via the app. The volume can be adjusted directly with a button on the device. One downside is that my smartphone is not compatible with the oticon devices and consequently I cannot stream phone calls. The latter is not essential for me.

It is what it is, otherwise there is nothing.
Given the aforementioned downsides, I continue to find them a necessary evil. I use them daily as I hope it is a matter of getting used to them. It is also bizarre that with the basic devices I could follow a conversation better. Other than that, I can only speak for myself because each person is unique.

Good hearing aids with excellent home service.
Chosen for this as a spare set in addition to the rechargeable P90 set already in use. The sound quality is second to none.
