After visiting another very well-known chain and comparing prices, I ended up at Oogvoororen. For the same hearing aids, the price difference was nearly 900 euros.
As far as service goes, I’m very satisfied. They say it’s a one-month trial period, but in my case it took much longer. They patiently let me try other hearing aids until I found the ones that were ideal for my ears. So I’m very satisfied with the guidance I received from my audiologist.

I don't want any other than the Zeal

After 5 years of “struggling” with hearing aids from Specsavers and trying all kinds of models covered by my health insurance, I was finally able to get an appointment with a hearing care professional from Oogvoororen. I had contacted them on the recommendation of a support group on Facebook. At first, it wasn’t possible, since I live in a remote corner of the country—Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Terneuzen. They didn’t yet have an audiologist available for this region. But a few weeks later, Jeroen called (thanks, Jeroen!). He felt so bad for me because I was on the verge of despair; he’d managed to find an audiologist who happened to be coming to the area… and that’s how Arno Verbeek came to visit me in June. Up until that point, I’d been living with hearing aids that made it feel like I was in a tropical water park—all the sounds and conversations were echoing and filled with a lot of static… which left me exhausted, trapped in my own little world, completely overwhelmed, and missing out on so much. After I finally tried behind-the-ear hearing aids at Specsavers, only to discover that these weren’t any better either, I was at a loss. All that time, they’d been telling me, “Ma’am, you need to get behind-the-ear hearing aids, because they’re much better in terms of sound quality.” But once I had these… it didn’t make any difference. “Yes, ma’am,” said the audiologist there, “it’s the same technology, so it doesn’t really matter.” Adjusting the settings there was also a nightmare. You’re sitting in a booth a few square meters big, and then you step outside into your own environment and it turns out everything is way too loud or too soft, with too much echo… and you can’t make another appointment for a few weeks…
That’s when Arno from Oogvoororen stepped in. The bottom line was that the in-house brands of these kinds of chains simply can’t compensate for my complex hearing loss at all… Tinnitus, 43 dB loss, and a loss of low frequencies on the right side…
And if these chains sell you a “custom” model, they aren’t specialized enough to adjust them properly…
So I showed them my latest test results from the Audiology Center. (That was a specialized test, but then you have to go out and buy the devices yourself.)
Arno left me with two types of hearing aids after a precise fitting right in my own home…
He was clear in his advice. Very friendly, too. I was allowed to try out both devices… after he left, I was already pretty much certain the very next day. With the Oticon, the annoying echo had practically disappeared… The others were also an improvement, but not as clear as this one. I don’t even feel them, and you can barely see them—if at all. I was able to order the “bananas” to match my hair color…
I’ve got my life back now. I can hear conversations on a patio again. I can hear my coworkers at the coffee table again. I can even hear conversations behind a closed door. Haha, that took some getting used to for my roommates. Music sounds fuller again, and at least I recognize the melody right away. I also got a second pair of Category 5 in-the-ear hearing aids covered by insurance, because, well, you’re still entitled to that, in addition to the out-of-category ones you have to pay for entirely out of pocket. For this second pair, Oogvoororen covered my copay. So I got them for free—for the beach or in case of an emergency. But I hardly ever wear them because I now wake up with my Oticons in and don’t take them out until I go to sleep. Thanks, Jeroen and Arno from Oogvoororen. Thanks for your expertise. After years of struggle, I’m living life to the fullest again thanks to my new hearing aids. Of course, I do have the occasional slip-up. Hearing loss can never be 100 percent resolved. But the improvement—at least for me—is more than I ever dared to hope for.
I also have my own account where I can reach out if anything comes up. I received plenty of cleaning wipes and accessories. The service is excellent.

I've already had experience with other brands; these are very good and produce clear sound. The only downside is that the Bluetooth connection is a bit weak. But I primarily buy hearing aids to hear well, not for streaming. They're nice and small. The battery life is long. I'm very satisfied and happy with them.
